Army Golf Club - Local Rules
1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18)
On or over the road to the left of the 1st Hole. On or over the canal towpath to the right of the 1st hole. Beyond any boundary fence. Beyond white marker posts to right of the 3rd, 6th, 18th holes.
2. PRACTICE.
All recognised practice areas within the bounds of the course may be used by players for practice on any day of the competition.
3. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 16)
Relief from interference by an immovable obstruction may be obtained under rule 16.1b. In addition if a ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard or immovable obstruction on or within two club lengths of the putting green and within two club lengths of the ball, intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole the player may take relief. The ball may be cleaned when lifted” Relief under this Local Rule is also available if the players ball lies on the putting green and an immovable obstruction within two club lengths of the putting green intervenes on the line of putt. Immovable Obstructions include:
Benches; Ball Washers; Course Equipment; Protective screen at 1st tee; Halfway House; Permanent signs; Manhole Covers; Practice Shed; Path Fences; Plinths by Bridges; Winter Tee mats, all artificial paths and all fixed sprinkler heads and irrigation system covers and their surrounds.
4. STAKED TREES (Rule 16.1f)
Staked or sleeved trees supported by stakes are No Play Zones, if a player’s ball lies in or touches such a tree, or such a tree interferes with a player’s stance or area of intended swing the player must take relief under Rule 16.1f.
5. GROUND UNDER REPAIR
Ground Under Repair is a No Play Zone.
RELIEF MUST BE TAKEN on any part of the general area so marked.
6. PENALTY AREAS (Rule 17)
Penalty areas are indicated by red stakes. Unmarked ditches are to be treated as red penalty areas.
7. AERATION HOLES
General Area, A ball coming to rest in or on an aeration hole may be lifted, cleaned and dropped as near as possible within one club length of the ‘reference point’ to the spot where it lay but not nearer the hole. The ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course in the general area. On the putting green, a ball that comes to rest in or on an aeration hole may be placed at the nearest spot not nearer the hole that avoids the situation.
8. ABNORMAL GROUND CONDITIONS
“Abnormal Ground Conditions” Relief is permitted under Rule 16.1b, if the ball lies in or touches the condition or when the condition interferes with the player’s stance, line of intended swing or intervenes on the players line of putt when the ball lies on the putting surface.
